MS Windows NT 4 is / was the de-facto Operating System for
business machines. All servers that SPF Limited can be supplied
with NT 4 Server as the principal Operating System (unless you prefer to
go direct to Windows 2000).
MS Windows NT 4 Server is a proven technology which is widely used
throughout the industry.
(Note: we can
also upgrade
NT4 to Windows 2000 Server).
At SPF Limited, we
support all aspects of NT4. For example, this may include initial
installation, setting up new hardware (such as modems, network cards,
network printers or backup devices); installing new Microsoft or Lotus
software on these platforms*; evaluating or redesigning security
principals; configuring remote access methods such as attaching to your
server from home or from a remote site; configuring / reconfiguring TCPIP
utilities; troubleshooting common network problems; installing the latest
service pack, troubleshooting failed services or complete system rebuilds.
Other common problems
we see daily are client PCs being unable to "talk" to the NT
Server; problems creating user accounts or incorrect user login scripts;
troublesome "roaming-profiles;" "permissions problems"
restricting who has access to what information; implementing
"auditing" in order to track suspicious activity, or finally implementing
fault-tolerance measures such as the appropriate RAID configuration.*
